Inhibin B blood test
Quick answer: An inhibin B test measures a hormone made by developing follicles in the ovaries and by the cells that support sperm production in the testes. Doctors may order it to look at ovarian function or, in men, to help assess sperm production.

Questions about this test
Is inhibin B better than AMH for ovarian reserve?
AMH is used more often because it varies less through the cycle. Inhibin B may be added in some cases.
Why is inhibin B checked in men?
It comes from the cells that support sperm production. A low level, often with high FSH, can point to a problem making sperm.
Does cycle day matter for inhibin B?
Yes. In women it changes through the cycle, so it is usually measured early in the cycle.
