Results can point to low ovarian reserve, PCOS, thyroid problems, high prolactin or other hormone issues that affect ovulation. A normal profile does not rule out other causes of fertility problems, such as tube or sperm factors.
Who usually has this test
Women trying to conceive for a year, or six months if over 35, women with irregular periods, and women planning IVF.

Questions about this test
Which tests are usually in a female fertility profile?
Common tests include FSH, LH, estradiol, AMH, prolactin and thyroid tests. Ask the hospital for the exact list in this package.
Why does the cycle day matter?
FSH, LH and estradiol change through the cycle. Testing early in the cycle gives a starting picture of ovarian function.
Does my partner need tests too?
Yes. Male factors are involved in many couples, so a semen analysis is usually done at the same stage.
