Questions about this test
What is corrected calcium?
Much of the calcium in blood is carried by albumin. If your albumin is low, the lab may adjust the calcium value to estimate what it would be with normal albumin.
What symptoms can high calcium cause?
It can cause thirst, passing a lot of urine, constipation, tiredness and confusion. Mild rises often cause no symptoms.
Can calcium supplements affect the test?
They usually have only a small effect on blood calcium, but tell your doctor about supplements and vitamin D you take.
