Questions about this test
Why does my report show several EBV results?
Different EBV antibodies appear at different stages of infection. Looking at VCA IgM, VCA IgG and EBNA together helps tell a recent infection from an old one.
Why should I avoid sports with glandular fever?
Glandular fever can enlarge the spleen, which could tear with a hard knock. Doctors usually advise avoiding contact sports for some weeks.
Can EBV cause long-term tiredness?
Tiredness can last for weeks or months after glandular fever. If it continues, talk to your doctor.
